BISP Nashonuma Registration for Pregnant and Lactating Women

The Benazir Nashonuma Program is an important support system started by the Government of Pakistan to help pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under the age of two. This program was launched under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), with the support of the World Food Programme (WFP). Its main aim is to improve the health and nutrition of mothers and their children, especially in poor and underprivileged families across Pakistan.

Many women in Pakistan face problems during pregnancy because they don’t have proper food or health care. Their children also suffer from diseases and weak growth because of poor nutrition. To solve this big issue, the government created the Nashonuma Program, which means “growth” or “development.” This program gives financial help, health checkups, and special food support to mothers and their small children to make sure they grow well and stay healthy.

Who Can Register for the Nashonuma Program?

The Nashonuma Program is not open to everyone. Only specific women and children who truly need this help can apply. The program was designed to make sure the right people get the support, and the benefits are not misused. To register in the Benazir Nashonuma Program, you need to meet the following eligibility conditions:

  1. You must already be registered in the BISP Kafalat Program – This means you are already receiving monthly financial support from the government through BISP.

  2. You must be a pregnant woman – If you are expecting a baby, you can apply for this program.

  3. You must be a breastfeeding mother – If your child is still nursing (under two years of age), you can also apply.

  4. Your child must be under 2 years old – Children from newborns to 23 months old are eligible for this program.

This program does not require anything extra from you except the proof of your condition. The government has made it very clear that this program is meant only for those mothers who are already in difficult living conditions and need support for a better future for their children.

Documents You Need to Register

To register for this program, you will need to bring a few documents with you. These documents help the health workers and government officials confirm that you are telling the truth and you are truly eligible for the program. The following documents are required:

  1. Your original CNIC – This is the national identity card that proves your name, address, and identity.

  2. Child’s B-Form – This is the official birth registration certificate issued by NADRA for your baby.

  3. Child’s Vaccination/Immunization Card – This card shows that your baby has received important vaccinations. It also helps the government track the health of your child.

All of these documents are very important. You should not bring photocopies only. Bring your original documents so the health officials can check them quickly and register you without delay. If your child does not have a B-form or an immunization card yet, you should apply for these as soon as possible from NADRA or your nearest health center.

Where to Go for Registration

The government has made it easier for women to register by setting up Nashonuma Centers across the country. These centers are located at Tehsil Headquarters (THQs) and District Headquarters (DHQs) Hospitals. These hospitals are available in almost every district and are easy to reach for most people.

When you visit the Nashonuma Center, you will meet health workers and social staff who will guide you through the full process. These workers are trained and friendly, and their job is to help you complete your registration. You do not have to pay anyone to get registered. The registration process is completely free.

You should bring your original documents and visit your nearest THQ or DHQ Hospital where the Nashonuma Center is set up. The staff will take your information, check your documents, and perform a short health check to confirm your condition (pregnancy or breastfeeding). After this, they will give you a registration form.

Step-by-Step Registration Process

To make it easy to understand, here is the step-by-step process for registering in the Benazir Nashonuma Program:

  1. Visit your nearest hospital (Tehsil or District Level) – Find the Nashonuma Center in your area.

  2. Take your documents with you – Your CNIC, child’s B-form, and vaccination card.

  3. Meet the health and support staff – They will guide you and check your eligibility.

  4. Undergo a short health screening – This is just to confirm that you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  5. Fill out the registration form – The staff will help you complete it correctly.

  6. Submit the form and wait for approval – You will be told when you are accepted into the program.

  7. Receive your confirmation and benefits – Once you are registered, you will start getting the financial support.

After your registration is approved, the staff will give you a registered tracking number. You can use this number to check the status of your registration and payments at any time by visiting the Nashonuma Center again or calling the BISP helpline.

What Support Will You Receive from the Program?

After your registration is completed and confirmed, you will start receiving financial and health support every few months. The help is given regularly and is designed to improve the nutrition of both mother and child. Here’s what you will get:

Financial Support:

  • Rs. 2,500 every trimester during pregnancy – You will get this amount three times during your pregnancy (once every three months).

  • Rs. 2,500 every three months for a son under 2 years – If you have a boy, you get this amount every quarter.

  • Rs. 3,000 every three months for a daughter under 2 years – If you have a girl, you get more, to encourage better care for daughters.

  • Rs. 500 as travel allowance – This is to help you with transport costs for visiting the Nashonuma Center.

This financial help is separate from the BISP Kafalat money, so you will continue to receive your regular payments along with the extra money from the Nashonuma Program. No money is cut from your Kafalat payments.

Nutritional and Health Support

In addition to money, the program also provides nutritional food and medical checkups. These services are very important for women and children who are weak or sick due to poor nutrition. The support includes:

  • Special food packages for pregnant and breastfeeding women – These include vitamins, iron, protein, and other nutrients.

  • Nutrient-rich supplements for babies under 2 years – This helps improve the baby’s weight, growth, and immune system.

  • Regular health checkups – Your health will be monitored by trained staff during your visits.

  • Vaccination and growth tracking – The health of your baby will be checked and recorded every time you visit the center.

This support is free of cost, and it ensures that both the mother and the child stay healthy during the critical first 1,000 days of life.

Why the Benazir Nashonuma Program is So Important

In Pakistan, malnutrition is a big problem. According to the National Nutrition Survey 2018, over 40% of children under five years old suffer from stunted growth, which means they are too short for their age due to poor nutrition. Also, 18% of children are underweight. This is very dangerous because it can cause life-long health problems, poor mental development, and difficulty in learning.

Many women, especially in villages and poor areas, do not get proper food during pregnancy, and they also don’t get medical checkups. Because of this, they give birth to weak babies who often get sick or die young. The Benazir Nashonuma Program is a big step to change this situation.

By giving financial help, healthy food, and medical care, the program helps mothers stay healthy during pregnancy and after childbirth. It also helps babies grow strong and smart. Healthy children grow into smart students and strong workers. This means they can help their families and their country in the future.

Collaboration with the World Food Programme (WFP)

The World Food Programme (WFP) is a global organization that helps poor countries fight hunger and malnutrition. The WFP is working with the Government of Pakistan to run the Benazir Nashonuma Program. Together, they have opened over 300 Nashonuma Centers all across Pakistan.

These centers are well-managed and provide food and medical support in a professional and honest way. The WFP also makes sure that the food given to mothers and babies is of high quality and full of nutrition. This partnership is very important because it brings international expertise and ensures that the program works successfully in both cities and rural areas.

How to Get Help or File Complaints

If you have any problem during registration or if someone asks for money, you should immediately report it. You can contact the BISP helpline to report complaints, ask questions, or check your application status. Remember:

  • No money is required for registration.

  • No part of your payment should be taken by anyone.

  • You get the full amount directly.

Stay safe and informed. If someone tries to cheat or confuse you, report them to the authorities using the BISP helpline or visit the nearest center.
